Farewell Mamasita…
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our darling Mamasita (Traviesa de Villa Tesoro). She has been having trouble getting herself up without help and became unable to walk or stand on her own. We did all we could for her but she was out of options and she was humanely euthanized this afternoon. Mamasita was brave, kind, loyal and like so many Paso Finos she never wanted to give up. Thank you all for your interest in this truly beautiful girl who has been a big part of our lives here for over 13 years.
New farm — new website
Windhorse Sanctuary has a new physical location and a newly designed website. We moved our animals and everything else to our new farm in beautiful Madison, Florida. We’re settling in nicely and all the horses, dogs, cats and donkeys are finding their new favorite places. Thanks to web designer Stewart Thomas we have a lovely new website to match. We hope you’ll visit us online to keep up with news about the Sanctuary.

In Tibetan culture the Windhorse, a mythic winged horse, is a symbol of life force energy. Colorful Tibetan prayer flags carry the image of the Windhorse as it is said that every time the wind blows through them, our prayers are carried to heaven.
